Not about real estate, but about marketing any small business.
I see this question time and again, and have answered it on Yahoo Questions several times, so decided to post the answer here to give everyone some food for thought.

Of course, these are just some of the things you can do to promote your business without spending a lot of money.

Here's another question I answered that was chosen as "best"...

I'm into a Home Based Internet Biz?How can I promote one of the products which are Holiday packages?

Start by sending out a press release - you can do it with free press release sites, or get more exposure by paying - the amount depending upon the amount of exposure. Just do a search for free press release and you'll find several sites.

If you're ambitious, send the press release to the newspapers and other media in your vicinity. Be sure to add a newsworthy twist with a benefit for the reader - don't just make it an advertisement!

Of course, you can pay for search engine placement - if you narrow your keywords down to the specific product you'll get the right clicks at a lower price than if you use a more general keyword. For instance, instead of "holiday packages" you might say "Holiday home decor" or "holiday chocolate gifts."

Do a search and see what kind of key phrases people are searching on related to your product, then use those.

Be SURE to create an email signature and include a short promotion for your product with it.

Make up flyers and post them on bulletin boards wherever allowed. Hand them out to the people you do business with, give them to friends and ask them to spread them around, and be sure to inform all your past customers.

Sign up for my ezine by sending an email to martegale@getresponse.com - then do a search for other marketing ezines and forums. There's a host of free marketing information out there - all you have to do is ask for it.

Good Luck!
