Real Estate Help

The Ezine for Real Estate Professionals and Independent Home Sellers

Some say that only death and taxes are inevitable -- to that, add change.

Change is the lifeblood of your Real Estate Business

Dear Friend,

Think about that. If it weren't for change, you wouldn't have a business. That means that you, as a Realtor intent on building your business, should market yourself to people whose changes are most likely to require a change of residence.

One of those major life changes is divorce.

None of us wants to benefit from someone else's unhappiness, and you can't ease their pain, but you can remove one burden from a divorcing couple. When you use your listening skills and your expertise to solve their housing dilemmas. When you prove that you can do it with efficiency and compassion, you can ask for referrals from the attorneys involved.

You know that "newly singles" in this transition don't need the hassle of dealing with a Realtor who doesn't return calls, shows them the wrong homes, or takes 6 months to sell the home they're leaving. They need an expert who can get them relocated in the least amount of time with the least frustration. That's you!

Remember that your "gratification" may be delayed. While your newly divorced couple may need to sell one home and purchase two others, they may not. They may need some combination of sell, refinance, purchase, and rent. Gather resources to help with all the possibilities so you can be seen as the expert they turn to. Help them, become a trusted advisor, and stay in touch until each needs a new home.

You can't prevent unhappiness and divorce -- but you can make one small part of the process just a little easier and build your business at the same time.

Wishing you success,

Marte
