Are you sending out press releases?

Dear Friend,

Have you ever sent a press release to your local newspaper and gotten free advertising as a result?

News editors are often hungry for something new and different, and will be very willing to print your press release as long as it is newsworthy.

Since people like to read articles and often skip ads, this free advertising is often better than any you could pay for, so you should be doing it often.

Now you're probably thinking that you don't do anything newsworthy, but think a little longer.

Have you gone to a Realtor Convention? Have you taken a trip and gathered information that you can put to use at home? Have you sponsored a local sports team, or become a coach - or a participant?

Have you changed real estate agencies or added a service - or gotten a new designation?

Remember that we Americans are a snoopy bunch. We like to hear what our neighbors are doing.

Your local news editors know that.

If you aren't "into writing" there are plenty of copywriters, like me, who will be glad to write your press releases for you.

So don't hesi tate! Start thinking of yourself as newsworthy and get that free advertising at every opportunity.
