New to Real Estate Help? Accidentally delete information you wanted to save?
Are your Silent Salesmen in Good Shape?
If you count the sunny days and the cloudy days in the whole year, you'll find that the sunshine predominates.
Author Unknown
Dear Friend,
I'm reminding myself of this today, as I watch the rain pour down and watch my satellite connection go on and off. Hopefully it will stay on long enough to write you.
As we watch the snow disappear and the mud (finally) begin to dry, I've been driving around more than usual. And what do I see, in addition to the welcome green grass, the baby calves romping, and the water rushing down creeks and rivers?
I see "Silent Salesmen" looking as if they've been fired from their jobs.
I'm talking about real estate for sale signs.
If you live in snow country, your signs have no doubt taken a beating over the winter. Your brochure boxes may be empty, as well. Even if you don't live in snow country, you need to check those signs periodically, just to make sure they're still there and looking good.
So now, before you get too busy to get out there and drive around, go check your signs. If they're leaning, straighten them. If they're faded, replace them. If the brochures in the box are soggy, get rid of them and insert new and better flyers. Even if they aren't soggy, put in some new and better ones.
If you haven't written any new and better flyers - why not?
Remember what you've read in previous issues and think about the most exciting feature of the house - then feature it in your flyer. Take some time to think about what would make YOU buy that house, and tell other people about it.
* Hint: It isn't "3 br, 2 ba, family room."

Now I want to make a referral. I advertised on Guru to find a graphic designer to make my book covers, and I found a prize: Michelle Hohner. The Getting Clients book cover to the left is her work. She can make your books look fat or thin, depending on your preference, and she is SO easy to work with that I'm positively going to use her again.
If you have an e-book in the works and need a cover, I highly recommend Michelle. You can contact her at m.hohner@att.net
She doesn't know I'm sending her info out to you - guess maybe I should tell her.

I'll end this week's message with a small bit of nagging... If you haven't started sending those "Thank You" cards to everyone you can think of - do it this week.
Send them to individuals, but also send them to store managers if you've had great service. Tell them which of their employees really pleased you and thank them for being so good at hiring. Ask them to convey your thanks to the employee who helped you.
You could help someone advance in their employment, give them a smile that just won't quit all day, and also gain a contact who will send customers to you at every opportunity. I call that a win-win-win.
The bonus: You will feel really good when you let someone else know you appreciate them. So that makes it win-win-win-win.
Yours for prosperity,
Marte
